About Me

Freelance Writer, Editor, and Blogger.

It was in High School that I decided that I wanted to become a writer. The high school I went to was not very good and I found myself spending more and more time in the library reading all the books I could get my hands on. I fell in love with literature and started reading the classics. Frankenstein has a sick appeal to high school students and I was no different. Looking at my future and trying to decide what to do with my life I started to think about what I really loved. Reading was very rewarding to a hungry mind and I had a natural ability to tell stories with my writing. (In fifth grade my teacher asked me to dedicate my first book to her.) English as a whole was what interested me and so I decided to pursue studying English.
I joined the military after working two jobs trying to pay for school became too much. 9-11 happened and I was sent overseas but during this time I found solace in literature. Reading The Iliad in a combat zone adds so much more meaning to the words spoken by Homer. Fear and Trembling helped me to understand many of the complex emotions I was experiencing in Iraq. I had many setbacks in my objectives after getting out of the military but my path has never wavered. I graduated with a degree in English literature in 2012.
Currently, I am a graduate student in English literature, the father of a beautiful baby girl, and a freelance writer. I divide my time between writing, blogging, and playing with my daughter in beautiful Southern California. I am also a university writing tutor and freelance writer and editor.
